Getting healthy with Tupperware?

So I've started working finally and I only get a half-hour for lunch. Even though we have an awesome break room with a stove, fridge, and a microwave a half-hour isn't really that much time to make something to eat, eat it, and clean up. And rather than getting Taco Bell everyday (which I would LOVE to do) it's not the healthiest choice.

I've been bringing my lunches to work with me. Tuna w/lemon juice (it's so yummy!), saltine crackers, and a piece of fruit are the healthy choice that's easiest for me. But I don't exactly have the greatest containers to take stuff to work in. I think that having the right containers for my lunch will make me much more likely to keep taking it. I tend to get frustrated when I don't have the right tools for the job, and after a while I just give up. But with this little set I will have all the right tools! And when one of the guys asks if I would like anything for lunch I can say "No I brought my own". So I don't have to feel guilty about eating whatever fast food the guys are getting that day.

So to get the right tools to keep my diet on track I decided to have a Tupperware party. I love their lunch bag sets - I'm going to get this one:

I've been taking juice with me to work instead of drinking pop all day. I know there's still sugar in it, but I feel much better about drinking some V8 fusion or splash then another can of Coca-Cola. Plus I've been wanting to get the Beach Body Shakeology. This will make it much easier to transport to work. And I can still have my juice in the morning and rinse it out and make my shake in the afternoon.

I am having a Tupperware party, and if you'd like to get this lunch set from my show you can shop here. One thing I love about Tupperware is that if you order online you can get the items shipped directly to you! How awesome is that. I know with other direct sales companies you have to pay extra to get online orders shipped to the customer... So this is an awesome feature with Tupperware.

And if you want to have your own online show and get this great little lunch set for free you can visit my consultant's web site. Just let her know that Jennifer DeFoy sent you over. She's awesome and will make sure you get as much free stuff as you can from your show!

I will keep you posted as to how the lunch thing is going when I get this set. So far it's been a week and a half of work and I only ate "garbage" one day. And it was a sub - no sauce, no cheese. I was so proud of myself!

This may be enough motivation!

I came across this blog post earlier today: Someone in Your Time Zone Will Win $1111 at 11:11am on 11/11/11

And as I was mentioning the other day I've fallen off the P90X bandwagon. But I think this may be just the motivation to get me going again! How awesome to win $1111 just for working out? And after dress shopping for Bridesmaid dresses for my sister's wedding this past weekend it made me realize I really need to get my butt in gear. The dress she really wanted us in was a big NO for me...
Yeah, not happening!!!!

Although the dresses we did get are really nice I could still stand to loose some weight.

So I will be working out on 11/11/11 and will be tracking my workout in the BeachBody SuperGym! Will you?

And you can also win money at BeachBody just for keeping track of your workouts there. They have daily, monthly, and quarterly contests. So now I have the motivation, and I'm going to have the house pretty much to myself tomorrow so I think tomorrow is as good a day as any to start pressing play again!

P90X here I come, again! If you want to help me stay on track you can friend me on BeachBody. I'm Jennmarie68 over there!

Me and my P90X

So for my birthday my mom bought me P90X. That was back in August. I got everything ready and did really good for about 4 weeks. Lost about 3 pounds the first week, gained a pound the second, and stayed exactly the same for weeks 3 and 4.

Then I decided I wasn't really getting the results that I wanted, so I decided I was going to do the P90X lean. So I took a week off from the workout and just followed the nutrition plan. In that one week I lost 10 pounds! I was so excited. After my week (which actually turned into 2) I started on the lean program. After a few days I left for Arizona to visit my baby sister and didn't take the DVD's with me.

I've been home for 2 weeks and just can't seem to find the motivation to get back into it... I even got a yoga mat, as I was using a towel on my carpet and my hands would slide out from under me during downward dog (which is a fairly common move in the cardio workouts I've noticed.) I have everything I need, except the motivation. It's frustrating... I know I can do it (I did 4 weeks) and it makes me proud to say I'm doing the P90X, as anyone who knows the program knows it's Extreme.

I think my biggest problem is that there is no structure in my daily routine right now. My bf works from home some days, works some weekends not others. I feel like I'm invading on his relaxing time when I'm taking up the TV for an hour. We have 2, but I like to work out in the back where every Tom, Dick, and Harry walking down the street can't see me. To get around this I was doing my workouts at night, after he goes to bed. And even though I'm up till the wee hours of the morning, working out at 2 in the morning isn't working for me. I'm not tired, but my body is, and I'm not doing the exercises right, or pushing myself to do my best. So I gave up the late at night thing.

I know this journey won't be easy. I'm not expecting it to be. I just wish I had the motivation to get my butt in gear again. I thought I had my depression pretty much licked, but these last few weeks without working out have let the blues creep back in. Someone kick me in the arse.... I could really use it right now!

I've always been a big girl...

So I've always been big, even as a child. Here are some pictures from my past.

This is me at about 12 or 13.

This was me at about 18 or 19

This was me at about 21.

 This was about 22.
This was me in 7th or 8th grade (so about 12 or 13) Side note: why did my parents let me have bangs??? And dress like a boy?

This was me at 18. I was skinnier here than I was at 16. This was my lowest weight (about 165.) But while I was skinnier I wasn't any healthier. I was running myself ragged at this point in my life. If you can see it my eyes look like they're going to sink into my skull. And I remember thinking how fat I was then.

This was me in November of 2010. That was 14 or 16 inches of hair I was donating. That helped me drop a few pounds....

So you can see weight has always been an issue for me. I'm just ready to get rid of this!!!!

I'm finally ready to do this!

So last year I realized that I'm going to be 30!!! I thought to myself, how awesome would it be if I could loose 100 pounds by my 30th birthday. I thought I could do it and started walking - a lot. That lasted for about a week....

So a few weeks ago (June 10, 2011 to be exact) I finally decided I'm ready to loose weight. I'm not happy with my body, I'm unhealthy, and to put it frankly I'm fat.... I just want to feel comfortable in my body, and I'm upset enough with the way I've treated myself for the last 30 years to finally do something about it!

I've tried walking, which is painful for my ankles. I like workout videos, but my jumping around on the floor may just be a recipe for disaster (Hello basement.. LOL!!!) I ran in high school and can still feel the shin splints, OUCH! So what's a girl to do? I decided to put that bike in the garage to good use. I got on and my first day I did 3 miles in a half hour, and had it not rained I felt like I could have gone further (because yes I will melt, I'm made of sugar). So a few days later I did just that - 7.5 miles in 45 minuets! And again felt like I could've done more (Just scared to push to fast to hard and do some damage). But I decided that my body will tell me before I go too far, and so my next ride I did 10 miles in an hour!

That was almost a month ago, given how quickly I've given up in the past I should be done with this biking thing now, right? WRONG! I LOVE biking. I'm not sore (well my but gets a little sore) when I'm done and I feel like I could ride forever. It's so calming to me. When I haven't gone on a ride for a day or two (like right now it's been 90 degrees and I'm not a happy heat kind of person) my body almost seems to CRAVE getting a ride in.

But riding a bike will not do the job by itself. At my house we don't eat healthy - AT ALL!!! so that was the next thing I had to change. While I can't seem to get anyone else on board with this thing I have realized that I don't need everyone else here to limit themselves for me to limit myself (but misery does love company doesn't it?) So I'm using to help me track what I'm eating. They've recommended between 1800 - 2100 calories a day for me. I've stuck to it too! I do have to admit that I've given myself what I'm calling Splurge Sunday but even on Sunday's I'm only going over by 200 calories or so.... And with the calories I'm burning riding 10 miles 3 - 5 times a week 200 calories isn't going to thwart my plans.

So now that I'm my 4th week what kind of progress have I made? Well I started this battle at 299 pounds and as of last Friday (July 1) I'm down to 285, that's 14 pounds in three weeks!!! I'm pretty proud of myself.

And on top of all this I decided that July 1st was my last day as a smoker. While I'm struggling a little bit with that I haven't had a full cigarette since I decided to quit.

So it's going to be a journey. I didn't get this way overnight, it took time to put on all this weight (almost 30 years to be exact). So it's going to take time to get rid of it, and I'm all for that - as long as it doesn't take another 30 years...
